NEWARK, OH- MAY 6, 2021 — The East Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross, along with our presenting sponsors, L Brands Foundation, Licking Memorial Hospital, OhioHealth, and Park National Bank will honor essential workers who rose to the challenge during this pandemic to keep our community safe and healthy through an online celebration. The virtual event, honoring frontline workers in the counties served by our East Central Ohio Chapter, starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 7 and will be hosted by WCOL’s Joe Boxer.

Healthy individuals are encouraged to make a blood donation appointment now. But what about those who’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine – can they donate? As long as donors are symptom-free, feeling well and can provide the vaccine manufacturer’s name, there’s no waiting period required after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine currently authorized in the U.S.

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Region 8 Mobility Management announces a new coordinated approach to streamlining mobility solutions. March 12, 2021 - The Region 8 Mobility Solution Center (R8MSC) is located in Perry County and will serve the residents of Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry, and Washington Counties. The R8MSC will begin fielding calls on March 17, 2021 with a soft opening and a grand opening TBA in Spring 2021.

HAPCAP Announces New Round of Rent, Mortgage, and Utility Assistance for Residents Impacted by COVID-19 | February 24, 2021
GLOUSTER –Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) has announced that there are funds available to assist households impacted by COVID-19 with rent, mortgage, and utility payments. Hocking, Athens, or Perry County residents who are at or below 80% of their county’s Area Median Income (AMI) and have fallen behind on rent, utility, or mortgage payments are encouraged to contact HAPCAP to submit an application for assistance. Funds are available for a limited time and applicants are encouraged to reach out early.
