BIOGRAPHY OF JUDGE DEAN WILSON
Dean Wilson graduated from Ohio University with his bachelor's degree in 1976 and completed his master's degree in 1978. He went on to Capital University where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. While attending Capital, he worked at the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office (1981) and then became a legislative aide for Senator Sam Speck (1982-1983). Dean Wilson was admitted to practice law in 1983. He became a partner in the law firm of Graham & Graham Co., L.P.A. in 1989.
He has served in many areas including Solicitor for the Village of Roseville (1983-1988); Acting Judge (1985-1990); Ohio Judicial Committee on Criminal Law (1996-1998); Past president and vice-president of the Perry County Bar Association; Assigned by the Ohio Supreme Court to preside over cases in Fairfield, Hocking, Licking, Monroe, Morgan and Muskingum counties and the City of Zanesville; Mentor for Ohio Judicial College; Member of Ohio Jury Service Task Force Committee; Member of Community Correction Board appointed by Ohio Supreme Court; Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee member (2000 to 2009); Council of Delegates (2009-present); Perry County Municipal Court Judge (1990 to present); Formation of the Perry County New Direction Drug Court (2016); Board of Governors- Ohio State Bar Association (2016-present); Chair of Board of Governors Government Affairs Committee; Amicus Committee Member; Chair of Deans & Practitioners Advisory Committee; Opiate Response Task Force Member and License Resque in conjuction with Ohio State Bar Association.
He is a member of County and Municipal Judges Association, American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Muskingum County Bar Association, Perry County Bar Association, Ohio Association for Justice and the American Judges Association. Dean's experience as a practicing attorney involves cases of criminal law, civil litigation, domestic relations, federal litigation and juvenile law. As an attorney, Dean Wilson has appeared as counsel in Common Pleas, Juvenile, Municipal, County and Federal Courts in a multitude of Ohio counties.
Dean has been a lifelong resident of the Roseville area, where he currently resides with his wife and son. Dean has been involved in the Roseville and Crooksville communities, having served on the Board for Catholic Social Services, Crooksville-Roseville Ceramic Museum Association, a Board Member of Perry Metro Housing (1985-1995), Board of Trustees for Ohio University Regional Campuses. He is currently serving as a Board Member of the Crooksville Athletic Association, and the renovation process of Village Park Field, as well as being very instrumental in the biddy league and high school programs at Crooksville.
