July 30th, 2024, will be the next Coffee with Some Commissioners

Location: Dodsons on Broadway, New Lexington 7:30 am

Coffee with Some Commissioners is open to everyone, featuring agencies and organizations around the County each month for an exchange of “positive” information.

Our speaker this month is Stephanie Taylor, Director of Community Engagement, with Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio 707 Slocum Ave. Lancaster OH 43130.

Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio began in 1990 as Athens County Habitat for Humanity. Since then, Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio has expanded to serve an eight county region (Athens, Fairfield, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum, Morgan, Meigs & Perry) and approximately 10% of Ohio’s geographical area. In addition, most of their service area is located in Appalachia Ohio, one of the most poverty-stricken areas in the United States. Since its inception, Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio has completed 150+ homes throughout Southeast Ohio. We are currently the only organization in their service area providing affordable homeownership opportunities for families making 30%-60% of the area median income. Over the next five years, they plan to build 40 homes and serve over 500 families through additional programming.

Stephanie will highlight more details about Habitat for Humanity, who they are what they do and how they do it.  They have offered some great opportunities for working families, throughout Perry County. Comer and listen to Stephanie and learn of some upcoming events and how you, and possibility your organization can get involved.

As always, we will take time for everyone in attendance to give updates.

No RSVP is required. Join me and have a great breakfast of your choice at Dodson’s as we support local business and enjoy some great information exchange.

Dodson's on Broadway. 7:30am July 30th, 2024.
