BIOGRAPHY OF JUDGE TINA BOYER
Judge Tina Boyer was raised in Somerset. She is the fourth of five daughters of Robert and Patricia Sterner.
Judge Boyer graduated as valedictorian from Sheridan High School in Thornville, Ohio. She attended Ohio University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She then attended Capital University Law School and graduated Cum Laude with a Juris Doctorate. After graduation from law school, she went into private practice and served as the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Court Magistrate from 1995 until 2009. She also served as the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, General Division Magistrate from 1999 until 2010. She became the first female Judge in the Perry County Court of Common Pleas, General Division when she took office on July 6, 2010.
Judge Boyer is admitted to practice in Ohio, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and in the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the Perry County Bar, where she previously served as Secretary, Vice President and President. She is also a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Ohio Common Pleas Judge’s Association and Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges. She has served on the criminal law procedure committee, civil law and procedure committee, judicial ethics and professionalism committee and community corrections committee with the Ohio Judicial Conference. She previously served on the Perry County Board of MR/DD where she served as Secretary and President.
She is married to Bryan Boyer and has three sons. They reside in Thornville.
