HAPCAP Offering Safety Items to Residents | September 8, 2020
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is providing free face masks and gun locks to residents of Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties.
A Truckload of Stories Available in Southeast Ohio | September 9, 2020
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action has received 35,000 books to distribute as learning gifts. The books cover a range of grades and age levels, and are available to any organization in the community that is interested in partnering with us to distribute them to children. To date, HAPCAP has distributed over 10,000 books to families served by HAPCAP programs in addition to providing books to local organizations.

Ohio Public Health Advisory System Update for August 6, 2020
(COLUMBUS, Ohio - August 6, 2020)—The Ohio Department of Health today released the weekly Ohio Public Health Advisory System update. Mercer County has reached Level 3 (red) of the Ohio Public Health Advisory System. Additionally, three previously red counties improved to Level 2 (orange) of the Ohio Public Health Advisory: Hamilton, Henry, and Lawrence.
Governor DeWine Tests Positive for COVID-19 August 6, 2020
(COLUMBUS, Ohio - August 6, 2020)—Today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine took a test for COVID-19 as part of the standard protocol to greet President Donald Trump on the tarmac at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. Governor DeWine tested positive. Governor DeWine has no symptoms at the present time.

(GLOUSTER, OH - July 27, 2020) - Hocking Athens Perry Community Action (HAPCAP) is accepting appointments for their water bill assistance program. This program is for income-eligible residents with a notice of being disconnected from their water source. Eligibility has been expanded due to the coronavirus pandemic.

With the Governor easing restrictions regarding returning to work and opening of the economy, Fairview Assisted Living has decided to now allow outdoor visiting to commence. All visiting however will still need to follow current orders.
Perry County Congregate Living Coalition
Through Governor DeWine’s office, and in collaboration with Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Hospital Association, there has been a request to develop “Congregate Living Coalition(s).” That is, it is the desire to work collaboratively to ensure connections and where possible, resources to help mitigate or diminish the exposure and spread of COVID-19 in our communities and particularly, in congregate living facilities.

2019 Drinking Water Consumer Confidence Report now available for Northern Perry County Water Thornville (#1) and Burr Oak (#2)
The Northern Perry County Water #1 and #2 water systems has prepared the following reports to provide information to you, the consumer on the quality of our drinking water. This report is required as part of the Safe Drinking Water Act Re-authorization of 1996 and is required to be delivered to the consumer by May 28, 2020. Included within this report are general health information, water quality test results, and water system contacts.
HAPCAP ANNOUNCES RENT AND MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, on behalf of the Hocking, Athens and Perry County Commissioners will begin accepting applications for Emergency Housing Assistance (EHA) on May 20, 2020. Assistance can provide up to 3 months of emergency rent or mortgage assistance for eligible households .
