It’s that time of year when we need your help. The Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) is on a mission to end food insecurity in the county. You can help make a difference for families in Perry County. But the clock is ticking…
Before Monday, July 15…please make a donation to help us end hunger in Perry County
The attached flyer contains some information on the impact we had over the last few years in addressing food insecurity in Perry County. In short, the information below equates into filling the freezers in PC food pantries for the last 12 months and the families that were served.
Last year, with your help, we processed 71 donated pigs, and the Community Foundation for Perry County (CFPC) purchased an additional 49 pigs totaling over 13,125 pounds of sausage to help feed nearly 18,513 people in Perry County through the Fill the Freezer Campaign. Perry County food pantries received the processed sausage from this campaign and served the following residents.

We will be posting a banner and distributing other material again during the Perry County livestock sale this year. This material will give thanks to our donors this year in addition to social media, newspaper and in signage that will be up during the entire livestock sale on Saturday, July 20.
- Partners will be recognized on the banner for contributions at $10,000 and above (a copy of the banner from 2023 is attached below for reference).
- Sponsors have various levels of giving on banner at the Perry County Fair Livestock Sale (donor form attached).
- Foundation Partner - $10,000 and above
- Platinum Sponsor - $5,000 - $9,999
- Gold Sponsor - $2,500 - $4,999 – Thank you to South Central Power and Kegler Brown Hill + Ritter for being a Gold sponsor this year!
- Silver Sponsor - $1,000 - $2,499 – Thank you to Genesis Healthcare and North Valley Bank for being a Silver Sponsor this year!
- Bronze Sponsor - $500 - $999
- Supporter - $1 - $499
- NOTE: Contributions can also be split into both the current fund (which helps with the direct cost of processing hogs and programming) and the Hunger Fund (the endowment that grows over time and we use the interest to fund future costs to end hunger indefinitely).
We are trying to lock in all commitments by Monday, July 15 to give us enough time to get the related banners printed before the livestock sale. All we need to move forward is your level of commitment and high-resolution logo for printing.
HOG BUYERS NOTE: If you plan to purchase a hog at the livestock sale this year, please consider donating it to the Fill the Freezer Campaign. The connection we are trying to make with the hard work it takes 4-H kids to raise these hogs on the farm to sausage finding its way to the table of those in need through our local food pantries has set an example throughout Southeast Ohio. Perry County is leading the way among other community foundations. We also try to include the 4-H kids with photographs and their buyer/donors of hogs at the fair and in any food distribution events in the county.
Your donation will help us meet our Fill the Freezer Campaign goal this year and support our foundation’s current fund that makes this program possible. Please let me know if you can support the CFPC this year.
