Virtual auction nearing final days
NEWARK, OH- MAY 6, 2021 — The East Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross, along with our presenting sponsors, L Brands Foundation, Licking Memorial Hospital, OhioHealth, and Park National Bank will honor essential workers who rose to the challenge during this pandemic to keep our community safe and healthy through an online celebration.
The virtual event, honoring frontline workers in the counties served by our East Central Ohio Chapter, starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 7 and will be hosted by WCOL’s Joe Boxer. Residents can watch for free by clicking on this link:
“I’m excited for this opportunity to recognize our community heroes,” said Rod Cook, Executive Director of the East Central Ohio Chapter. “These individuals are representative of many in our community who worked selflessly under stressful circumstances during this pandemic in order to keep us safe. I’m also incredibly grateful for the support of our corporate sponsors”
“L Brands is proud to support the work of the American Red Cross and the Power of a Hero event. We are committed to giving back — as individuals and as a business — and continuing to make a difference in our communities. It’s imperative that in these times of uncertainty, we come together to support those who need it most … when every minute of volunteer time and every dollar of support matter more than ever,” said Rhoe Fields, L Brands Associate Vice President of Community and Government Relations and President of the L Brands Foundation
An accompanying feature of this virtual celebration is an online auction which began May 3 and continues until 8 p.m. on May 7. The auction features various prize packages and can be found at this link:.
The funds generated from the virtual auction and heroes’ celebration will support life-saving Red Cross services and programs in Crawford, Marion, Richland, Morrow, Knox, Coshocton, Licking, Perry, Morgan, Noble, Guernsey and Muskingum counties.
