Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Community Health Programs has initiated a Perry County Breast Health Advisory Committee
Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Community Health Programs (CHP) develops and delivers quality health care services for children and adults throughout southeastern Ohio through a stationary and mobile clinic. Our services were initiated in response to unmet health care needs and are often geared toward clients and patients who lack adequate medical alternatives. As part of our services we offer free breast and cervical cancer screenings for uninsured, insured and under-insured women. The goal of the program is to decrease late-stage breast cancer diagnosis rates by offering breast health education, breast cancer screenings, clinical breast exams, mammogram referrals, gas cards, breast diagnostic referrals and navigation. Our services are funded and supported by Susan G. Komen Columbus.
In an effort to work more closely and efficiently with local health care providers and community members our program has initiated a Breast Health Advisory Committee. I am reaching out to you as a health care provider or community partner to invite you to join us for the first committee meeting to be held on May 4, 2017 @ 9:00am Perry Co. Senior Center 520 First St. New Lexington. Please feel free share this valuable information with those in need of resources. With your support we can reach women in need in Southeastern Ohio communities and provide them with the necessary preventative screenings.
