The Little Cities Tour de Forest Benefit Bicycle Ride returns for its 14th year on May 4, 2019 departing from the Hocking College Student Recreation Center in Nelsonville.Ohio with roadway, gravel and bikeway routes for riders of all levels.  Ride for History's Sake

is our ride's theme as funds raised benefit efforts by the Little Cities of Black Diamonds Council to save, share and use as an economic development tool, the rich history of this series of boom-to-bust coal mining towns now surrounded by the Wayne National Forest in hilly southeastern Ohio.  The 30, 54 mile gravel and Metric Century ride stops in the historic mining towns of New Straitsville and Shawnee, connecting you with a provocative story of Ohio History while grabbing a water or snack.  Town stops are available on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway for the level family friendly route.

It's not just about history, however, its about being challenged on the significant hills of our roadway and gravel routes, as well as enjoying leisure rides on the southeast Ohio's premier bike path, the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway that runs from Nelsonville to Athens, with side spurs to other locations including microbreweries near Athens. It also about being surrounded by Ohio's only national forest and seeing dogwoods in bloom, deep woods, wildflowers and history on both challenging and easy routes.  And, don't forget, of course, our knock-out lunch and souvenir t-shirt at the end of the ride.

This is a partially supported ride with road markings, maps and water stops at the two above locations.  Call-in emergency only number is provided.  Otherwise you should be prepared to enjoy your ride as a solo, or group ride.  Group rates are available.  Showers and pool at Hocking College also available upon return.

Please join us.  It is important to pre-register to assure lunch and t-shirt souvenir. For full details, maps and required download of required signed waiver form, visit, or to get to the bottom line just click here to: Register Now.
