Community Foundation for Perry County Annual Dinner 2019

Dear Fellow Perry County Humanitarians,

Thank you for all you do for Perry County.  We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to significantly enhance the Community Foundation for Perry County’s positive impact on our county, but we need your help in spreading the word.

To that end, I’m writing to personally invite you to join the Community Foundation for Perry County next Thursday, November 14 at Barn at the Backwoods in Thornville for our annual dinner and to forward this invitation on to all of your contacts that may be interested in this event.

This year, we awarded $5,000 in grants to organizations working in the arts, education, and history, we purchased a hog to support 4H and fight against hunger, and we welcomed a new fund focused on outdoor recreation. So we have a great deal to celebrate at our annual event. But we have even more to look forward to, because we now have an incredible opportunity to greatly accelerate our campaign to increase CFPC’s annual grant making ten-fold.

In celebration of Perry County’s 200th birthday, CFPC launched Endow 200, a campaign to expand impact by growing CFPC’s permanent endowment resources through 200 gifts of $5,000. By growing the CFPC’s endowment to about $1 million, Endow 200 will allow CFPC to create a brighter future for Perry County by generating approximately $50,000 in grants for the community each and every yearmore than ten times what the CFPC is currently able to give.

And in partnership with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO), CFPC has the potential to make significant progress toward this goal by the end of May. Thanks to matching funds awarded to FAO by the Ohio legislature, all gifts to CFPC’s endowment will be matched dollar-for-dollar while the $300,000 in available matching funds lasts.  That is why pledged donations this year are more important than ever to take advantage of this matching opportunity.

What does this mean?  Pledges of:

  • $50 turns into $100
  • $100 turns into $200
  • $250 turns into $500
  • $500 turns into $1,000
  • $1,000 turns into $2,000
  • $2,500 turns into $5,000
  • $5,000 turns into $10,000
  • And so on – higher pledged amounts will be matched until we reach the $300,000 match amount.

If CFPC succeeds in meeting its $300,000 match by May 31, 2020, that will mean an additional $600,000 creating opportunities for the citizens and communities of Perry County – a major step toward the ultimate goal of $1 million.  It is important to note that other Southeast Ohio counties are already closing in on the matching amount allotted to their county.  In addition, if we don’t reach the $300,000 in pledged donations we lose out on significantly increasing our positive impact on Perry County.

Tickets for the event are only $25 and include dinner and drinks.  Table and additional sponsorship opportunities start at $500.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at or by email at or by phone at 740.753.1111.

I hope to see you all next Thursday.

Special thanks goes to Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder, Senate President Larry Obhof, Senator Jay Hottinger, Rep. Jay Edwards, Senator Bob Peterson and the entire Appalachian Delegation for this opportunity for us to make an even greater difference for Perry County.
