The Real Facts of the Sam Sheppard Case
from 01:30 PM to 03:00 PM
The Real Facts of the Sam Sheppard Case, a presentation by Judge Luann Cooperrider, will be presented at the Buckeye Lake Historical Society Museum on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:30 p.m to 3:00 p.m.
In 1954, neurosurgeon Sam Sheppard was convicted of the murder of his pregnant wife, Marilyn. Sheppard was accused of murdering his wife at their home in Bay Village, Ohio on July 4, 1954. He spent almost a decade in prison and in a re-trial in 1966 was acquitted of the crime. Until his death in 1970, he maintained his innocence. During this February 23 presentation, Judge Cooperrider will discuss the issues surrounding the case, as well as the history of the case and the most current developments with the matter. To date, Dr. Sheppard’s son, Samuel Reese Sheppard, has continued to fight to clear his father’s name. This will be a very interactive presentation.
