JobsOhio Update and Economic Impact Memo from JP Nauseef | July 10, 2020

JobsOhio business and community stakeholders,

We hope you had a healthy and safe Fourth of July weekend celebrating the anniversary of America's independence!

On Sunday July 5th, we celebrated the ninth anniversary of JobsOhio, established on July 5, 2011.

Over the past nine years, JobsOhio, working with many partners, completed over 2,500 projects that resulted in more than 198,000 jobs created, $56 billion in capital investment and $9.3 billion in new payroll. We also saw Ohio rise in national, independent rankings of best states for business, quality of life and affordability.

We are grateful to our six regional network partners, Ohio’s many economic development professionals and the Ohio Development Services Agency for their partnership in driving economic development momentum across the state. Our public-private partners in education, research and business have been invaluable in helping Ohio to attract, retain and grow businesses. We also thank Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted and members of the Ohio legislature for their support of JobsOhio, economic development and building a strong and competitive business climate. As Ohio’s economy emerges from the pandemic, these partnerships are more critical than ever.

Now is the time for Ohio to rebuild and our value proposition and ability to collaborate will help us emerge a stronger, better state for businesses and people. We will be sharing more details on JobsOhio’s plans for recovery in subsequent communications.

In the meantime, please visit our Our Ohio Safe. Ohio Working page for relevant updates for the business community as well as economic impact reports and other information related to COVID-19.
