RSVP Volunteer Recognition Drive-Thru | October 24, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Perry County Ohio Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Recognition Dinner was conducted as a drive-thru this year on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the New Lexington Baptist Church.
Over the past 12 months, RSVP data shows that we have 122 current volunteers. Our seniors have volunteered a total of 10,246 hours.
- They volunteer at food pantries in Perry County
- They make reassurance telephone calls
- Some make masks
- Some volunteer at COVID antibody testing sites
- Some of our volunteers are certified instructors and teach the Aqua, Walk with Ease, and Matter of Balance classes
Before COVID, our volunteers visited shut-ins and the disabled, transported other seniors to get groceries or to pick up medication.
These volunteers have undeniable passion for our community and the needs within. They also have great passion for each other.
I thank them for all that they do for each other, our community, and for RSVP.
